Martha Hernandez
The Greatest Mother in the World
"She walked a mile with a bucket because she believed in doing whatever it takes. She didn't wait for the world to come to her — she went to it, pregnant, in chanclas, with a toddler on her hip, and asked a stranger for horse manure to feed her trees. That was Martha."
Martha Hernandez was a leader, a wife, a mother, and a friend who taught her children leadership not through lectures but through daily life. Short, dark-complected, Filipino-Mexican, with a spirit larger than any room she walked into. She could make an entire neighborhood love her before dessert was served.
She raised three children — Manuel, Evania, and Jorge Jr. — with a husband who adored her for 48 years. She survived cancer with grace, fought with dignity, and left behind a family that builds in her name every single day.
She passed on April 1, 2026. The world got quieter that day.

& Family
"I won't ever be able to laugh with her about that story... but I can tell it. And I can build something that carries her name. Every commercial Mecha makes, every small business that gets a chance because of this platform — that's Martha's legacy. She's the reason we build."
— Manuel Hernandez, her son
Mecha is dedicated to her memory.
